Hi All,
I'm holding a fund-raising ebay-auction on my website to raise funds for the
The Bill Mason Scholarship Fund.
The auction is slated to close April 21st on my Dad's birthday. Would you mind donating something to it? Any donation would be swell but I do understand if you can't.
In 2009 I held the auction for the first time and it was very successful and people were very supportive in their bidding. I think it will be a good BMMSF fundraiser this year too. For promotion I'm putting together an email newsletter that goes out to 1600 contacts on my elist and I'll be using social media, paddling forums and my contacts to promote this event. Paddle Canada, who manages the BMMSF will also be promoting it.
To see the 2009 auction items, bids and total funds raised go to:
http://www.redcanoes.ca/bill/2009auctionday.htmlIf you have something to donate please email me a brief description, msrp and a jpeg of the item or URL of image if possible. Once the item is sold I will send you shipping details and I will cover shipping/handling fees if you wish. It would be best for products if you could ship it directly to the lucky winner. Sorry Paddle Canada can not issue donation tax receipts.
Donation explanation in full on web.

Cheers,

Auction details:
The Bill Mason Scholarship Fund Committee is raising funds for this coming year. Annually we award a $1000.00 scholarship to a well deserving 2nd year or higher student studying in environmental studies or outdoor education. BMMSF 2011 on-line auction closes April 21st.
Our auction will help ensure Bill Mason's continued legacy through the Bill Mason Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Bill's idea of success was to be able to communicate through his films, books and paintings the intense feelings he had for his surroundings, and to inspire others into sharing and adopting these thoughts and concerns. He was passionate in his beliefs and spoke from his heart. This coupled with his unwavering pursuit of excellence and the attention he gave to every detail allowed him to inadvertently become a well known environmentalist and public figure.
The BMMSF was founded by Paddle Canada in 1990, the BMMSF's main objective was, and continues to be to help provide tomorrow's environmental stewards financial assistance in their studies. The BMMSF Committee is committed to be able to provide a $1000 scholarship to help them meet their educational goals.
