Paddle Canada was sadened to learn of this recent paddling death on Lake Superior. PaddlingInstructor.com posted the news item to their blog late last week of the June 17th death of Robert Weitzel, a resident of Wisconsin, USA, and a past PC Level 2/3 Sea Kayak Skills participant, who was out solo kayaking on Lake Superior. He was circumnavigating the lake in a fundraising effort for urban-at-risk children to provide them with 'wilderness' experiences.
Paddle Canada's sympathies go out to Robert Weitzel’s family and friends.
