Paddle Canada announces deadline reminder for Skill and Instructor Transfers

Just a reminder to all non-Paddle Canada Instructors that the deadline for equivalent certification transference will be 31-December-2009.

This decision affects the following members:

Ontario Recreational Canoeing and Kayaking Association (ORCKA)
Recreational Canoeing Association of British Columbia (RCABC)

This application is for equivalent transfer only and does not include any applicable membership fees. Upon approval Applicants will be required to register with Paddle Canada via our website and to remit the necessary fees required to validate their Paddle Canada membership and complete the equivalent transfer process.

How to complete your Application for Paddle Canada Certification

The process for equivalent transference is as follows:
The individual requesting transference must fill out the application for transference.
Contact padlonph@gmail.com for your transfer from.
The application, once received, will be reviewed by the Paddle Canada Canoeing Program Development Committee (PDC) Chairperson who will then confer with the Committee members and/or the instructors listed on the application to verify the existing credentials.
The PDC Chairperson will then determine the appropriate Paddle Canada certification to be conferred upon the applicant, based on the program and relevant paddling experience. Based on experience, the applicant may or may not receive certification at the highest level.
Upon approval, the applicant must then register with Paddle Canada and remit the appropriate membership fee to activate their instructor certification.
